Usage and your AI allowance.

Each plan includes a number of AI conversations each billing period: 300 on Starter, 1,500 on Growth and 5,000 on Scale, and 150 during the 14-day free trial. Owners and admins can see usage on the Usage page.

One allowance, two assistants

The allowance is shared by:

• Website assistant conversations: visitor conversations on your website in which the assistant sends at least one answer. Each counts once, however many questions the visitor asks.
• Ask AI conversations: conversations with Ask AI in the dashboard. Each counts once, when its first answer arrives; follow-up questions in the same conversation do not count again. See Ask AI.

The total of both is what counts against the allowance. Conversations only with your team, messages left out of hours, and answer checks do not count.

The figures on the Usage page

• Plan and billing period: the dates the current allowance covers, and the day it resets.
• AI conversations: used of the allowance, with how many are left this period. Below the meter, the split between the website assistant and Ask AI.
• Websites, Team seats, Knowledge pages and Files: what the plan allows and what you use. Seats include pending invitations.
• Daily AI conversations: a chart of website assistant conversations per day, for this period, 7, 30 or 90 days. The range only changes the chart, not the allowance.
• Technical usage (not your bill): the AI model's tokens and our estimated cost of them. It is for interest; your price is the flat plan price.

How many conversations are left

The Usage page says "N of M AI conversations used, X left this period". The panel in Ask AI shows the same. The allowance resets on the date shown, at the start of the next billing period (or the end of the trial).

At 80% and 100%

At 80% and at 100% of the allowance, owners get an email and owners and admins get a notification. Ask AI conversations count towards these alerts like any other.

At 100%, AI answers on your website pause until the period resets: visitors are offered a person, or the message form out of hours. Ask AI cannot start a new conversation either. Nothing is charged automatically.
