Product
One connected journey—from question to resolution.
Askbridge answers from your content, shows its sources, and hands over to a named person when needed. Here is each part, what it does, and the limits and controls that come with it.
01 · Knowledge
Your own content, kept up to date.
- The problem
- Answers are spread across web pages, PDFs and what your team remembers.
- What Askbridge does
- Reads your website from its sitemap and respects robots.txt
- Takes PDF, Word (DOCX) and Markdown uploads, and FAQs you write
- Re-checks pages on a schedule and re-reads only what changed
- What your team sees
- A list of sources with their status. Any source can be switched off without deleting it.
- Limits and controls
- Pages and files depend on the plan: 500, 3,000 or 15,000 pages; 50, 300 or 1,500 files. FAQs are unlimited.
- harbourlettings.exampleWebsite · 42 pages · sitemap followed, robots.txt respected
- Tenant guide 2026.pdfPDF · 12 pages · uploaded
- Landlord terms (old).docxDOCX · Off · not used in answers
- Written by your teamFAQs · 22 questions
3 of 4 sources used in answers. Turning one off keeps it, without deleting it.
Technical details
Content is split into passages and indexed for search. A checksum shows which pages changed, so only those are read again. Pages blocked by robots.txt are skipped.

02 · Answers
Cited answers, or a person.
- The problem
- A chatbot that guesses does more harm than no chatbot at all.
- What Askbridge does
- Answers only from your knowledge, with numbered sources
- Below a confidence floor, says it can’t find that in your information and offers a person
- Removes contact details and similar identifiers before a question reaches the AI model
- What visitors see
- An answer labelled as AI, with sources they can open, and “Talk to a person” always available.
- Limits and controls
- Each AI conversation counts towards your plan’s monthly allowance. Like any AI system, answers can be wrong; sources let visitors check.
How much is the tenancy deposit?
- Askbridge · AI
The tenancy deposit is five weeks’ rent. It is protected with the Deposit Protection Service within 30 days.[1]
- 1Renting with us · Deposits
Your tenancy deposit is five weeks’ rent. We protect every deposit with the DPS within 30 days.
- 1Renting with us · Deposits
Technical details
Visitor messages and the pages Askbridge reads are checked for prompt-injection attempts. Identifiers such as email addresses, phone numbers and card or bank details are removed by pattern matching, which catches common formats but cannot catch everything. The model is provided by Anthropic and processes the redacted text outside the UK.

03 · Answer checks
Check the answers before visitors do.
- The problem
- You change a page and cannot be sure what the assistant now says.
- What Askbridge does
- Save the questions your customers ask
- Say what a good answer must say, must not say, which source it cites, or that it offers a person
- Re-run them after you change your content and see which pass
- What your team sees
- A list of checks with pass or fail, ready to re-run in one click.
- Limits and controls
- Answer checks are included on Growth and Scale.
- Do you charge a holding deposit?Expects “One week’s rent” · Renting with us · Applying Pass
- Are you open on Saturdays?Expects “10am to 2pm” · Home · Opening hours Pass
- Can I rent with a dog?Expects “Ask the landlord” · Renting with us · Pets Pass
Technical details
Each check asks the question through the same answer process your visitors use, then compares the answer and its sources with what you expect.

04 · Widget
Light on your site, clear for visitors.
- The problem
- Chat tools can slow pages down and look bolted on.
- What Askbridge does
- One script tag; the chat panel loads only when a visitor opens it
- Your colours, logo, greeting, suggested questions and position
- Built for keyboards, screen readers and small screens
- What visitors see
- A launcher in your colours, answers that appear as they are written, and a message form when nobody is available.
- Limits and controls
- Starter shows “Powered by Askbridge”; Growth and Scale can remove it. Websites per plan: 1, 3 or 10.
<script src="…/widget/v1/askbridge.js" data-site="pk_…" async></script>Technical details
The loader renders only the launcher in a shadow root; the panel script is fetched on first intent. A bot check keeps scripted traffic out of your allowance. Built to WCAG 2.2 AA.

05 · Inbox and handover
Hand-offs to a named person.
- The problem
- When a person takes over, the visitor should not have to start again.
- What Askbridge does
- Conversations arrive with a summary in Waiting, Mine, Live, AI and Closed views
- Take, reply, assign, add private notes, use canned replies and close
- Email, browser push and in-app notifications, set per person
- What the visitor and your team see
- The visitor sees who joined. Your team sees the whole conversation, transcripts and satisfaction ratings.
- Limits and controls
- Team members per plan: 3, 10 or 25. Conversations handled by your team are unlimited. Roles: owner, admin and agent.
Summary for the team
Asked about the holding deposit (answered with a source), then asked for a call about a viewing.
Technical details
Replies reach the visitor in the same conversation within seconds. Out of hours, visitors leave a message with their email and consent, and it waits in the inbox.

06 · Insights
See what people ask, and what is missing.
- The problem

- What Askbridge does
- Conversations, answered by AI versus handed to your team
- Top questions and knowledge gaps you can turn into FAQs
- Satisfaction ratings, usage against your plan and AI cost
- What your team sees
- A dashboard for a chosen date range, with the gaps listed by how often they were asked.

07 · Usage and controls
Clear allowances, and a switch you control.
- The problem
- Usage-based AI tools can surprise you with the bill.
- What Askbridge does
- A monthly allowance of AI conversations, with an email at 80%
- At 100%, AI answers pause and visitors are offered a person or the message form
- Switch AI answers off at any time; the widget keeps working as live chat
- What your team sees
- Usage against the allowance on the Billing page, and the AI switch in Settings.
- Limits and controls
- Allowances: 300, 1,500 or 5,000 AI conversations a month. Optional top-up: £15 for 500 more, for the current billing period.
Owner emailed at 80%. At 100%, AI answers pause and visitors are offered a person.
Technical details
